Hideez Launches Mobile Authenticator for Government Agencies and Businesses

Ukrainian cybersecurity company Hideez has launched a new mobile app that enables passwordless multi-factor authentication, designed specifically for government agencies and businesses. The announcement was shared via a press release, as reported by dev.ua.

  • Instead of traditional one-time codes, the app uses passwordless authentication based on public-key cryptography, also known as Passkeys.
  • It’s integrated with the Hideez Workforce Identity platform, allowing users to authenticate not only into web services and apps but also to unlock their workstations. Authentication keys are stored locally on the device and can be used even without an internet connection.
  • According to Hideez, the development of the app was funded by USAID as part of the «Cybersecurity of Ukraine’s Critical Infrastructure» initiative. The goal is to reduce the risk of phishing attacks and prevent unauthorized access to sensitive government and corporate systems.
  • The solution is already being used by several Ukrainian government institutions, including the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration.
  • The app is free for small businesses with up to 20 employees, and Hideez plans to expand the solution to international markets in the future.
