Ukrainian Skyeton Launches Production of Raybird Drones in Slovakia
Ukrainian company Skyeton has launched its Raybird unmanned aerial systems production in the European Union, setting up operations in Slovakia. The move will allow the company to offer faster delivery and closer support to partners across Europe and beyond, according to Defender.media.
- Production is taking place at Tropozond s.r.o., a Slovak-based factory that is part of the Skyeton Group.
- Founded in 2006, Skyeton has long been developing and supplying light sport aircraft to customers in Europe, North America, and the Middle East. The company is now licensed to enter into contracts for its new core focus: the development and supply of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
- Skyeton previously announced a strategic partnership with Danish company Quadsat, a specialist in radio frequency research. Together, the two firms will develop an electromagnetic spectrum monitoring system based on the Raybird-3 platform.
- Raybird-3 (ACS-3) is a Ukrainian unmanned aerial system designed for long-duration reconnaissance and search-and-rescue missions. It comes in two versions: Raybird-3, a civilian model with limited capabilities, and ACS-3, a military-grade version supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- One of the drone’s standout features is its exceptional endurance. According to reports, a single ACS-3 flight lasted 24 hours and 31 minutes, covering more than 2,000 kilometers. The drone weighs 21 kg.
- The operator can maintain direct control over a distance of up to 240 km. The ACS-3 cruises at 120 km/h and has a top speed of 160 km/h.
- The military version is protected against electronic warfare and can operate fully autonomously, following a pre-set flight path.
