Ukraine Develops Drone to Intercept Russian Shaheds – Already Downed 20 UAVs
The Ukrainian military-industrial complex has unveiled a new drone designed to intercept Russian Shahed drones, according to Militarnyi.
- According to its developers, this drone has destroyed more than 20 Shahed UAVs over the past two months.
- They claim it is currently the most effective Shahed interceptor in service with the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
- The drone is intended to partially replace expensive anti-aircraft missiles in the fight against low-speed, small-sized aerial targets.
- It can also be used to target smaller threats, such as reconnaissance drones.
- The drone has a top speed of 200 km/h and a maximum flight altitude of 5 km.

- It was presented to a Belgian delegation led by Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever, who visited Kyiv to learn about new developments in Ukraine’s defense sector.
- The goal of the presentation was to strengthen cooperation with the Belgian defense industry, paving the way for joint production and further development of defense technologies. In particular, Ukraine is expected to begin producing and adopting Belgian FZ275 LGR missiles — laser-guided rockets based on 70-mm unguided munitions.
- In November 2024, a memorandum was signed between Ukraine and Thales Belgium to facilitate the joint production of these 70-mm missiles.
