Deftak Raises €600K from Darkstar to Advance Drone Ammunition Tech
Deftak, a deftech startup based in Kyiv, has secured €600,000 in funding from Darkstar, a coalition of tech investors, military veterans, and unicorn founders. The investment was announced by Darkstar co-founder Ragnar Saas and confirmed by Deftak CEO Andrii Romanenko.
What’s Known
- Deftak is developing next-generation aerial munitions designed for drones. According to Saas, the system can be integrated with almost any airborne platform, turning reconnaissance drones into precision-strike bombers — even in challenging conditions where GPS is unavailable.
«Their technology has been combat-tested, operates at altitudes of up to 10 km, and is up to 10 times cheaper than traditional systems,» said Darkstar co-founder Saas.
- According to Deftak’s website, the startup won the Drone Hackathon 1.0 in August 2022, took part in the Army of Drones accelerator, and secured grant funding in both June and October 2023. In the summer of 2023, it also completed an acceleration program at 1991. Deftak is currently expanding its team and hiring an operations manager.
